Walsall Pride invites you to stand in solidarity with the trans community at a peaceful protest on Sunday 1st June in Gallery Square, Walsall. Now is the time to show up, speak out, and protect the rights of our trans siblings.
📍 Event Details
🗓 Date: Sunday 1st June
🕐 Time: Protest begins at 2PM
📌 Location: Gallery Square, Walsall (outside The New Art Gallery)
🛑 Safe Meeting Points (From 12PM)
To help everyone feel supported and safe, we’ve arranged two welcoming meeting points before the protest:
🦁 The Red Lion, Park Street, Walsall
🌈 Lion Bar & Club, Birchills Street, Walsall
Whether you're coming alone or just want a quiet space to prepare, both venues will be open from 12PM. Volunteers and stewards will be there to welcome you and walk with groups to Gallery Square if needed.
✊ Why We Protest
Trans rights are under attack across the UK. From harmful rhetoric to political inaction, our trans family faces real threats to safety, dignity, and freedom. This protest is a space for:
Raising visibility of trans lives and voices
Demanding meaningful protection and rights
Uniting the LGBTQ+ community and allies in love and solidarity
This is a peaceful protest. Our strength is in our unity, and our message is one of equality, respect, and compassion.
🧡 What You Need to Know
Dress for the weather. Bring water, snacks, and any medications you may need.
Bring a sign or flag if you wish — but most importantly, bring your voice.
Stay safe. We’ll have clearly identified stewards throughout the event, and both safe spaces will remain available before, during, and after the protest.
Need help? Speak to a steward or head to one of the safe spaces if you feel unwell, overwhelmed, or unsafe.
